The 31 Days of Kay

So here’s the deal…

I am calling the month of August (2012) the “31 Days of Kay”. During August we are going to be actively fundraising.

And I need your help.  I need to raise $30,000 to complete my film, Dangerous: Kay Boyle.

From August 1st to the 31st I will be posting interview clips and stills from the film every day along with video clips of various friends and supporters saying why completing this film is so important.

The filming portion of Dangerous: Kay Boyle is complete.  Over the years I shot 25,000 feet of 16mm film and a workprint was struck.  The early editing on this movie was done in film, but now I need to transfer everything to digital to complete it.

I have been working on this film for 28 years, and funding has always been difficult to get.  Potential funders have no idea who Kay Boyle was so I paid for many things out of my pocket in order to get the footage I needed.  Over the years I have personally devoted thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars to this film because I have always believed that people need to know who Kay Boyle was.  She was an amazing artist, woman and role model.

I am happy to announce that I have a production partner on the film, The Fredericksburg Athaneum, a 501c(3) non-profit organization so all donations are tax deductible. If you want to learn more about the Fredericksburg Athenaeum go to

The only way this is going to work is if you help me.  I understand that money is tight, it’s tight for all of us, but even a $5 contribution helps.  And if you can’t afford that, then pass the word along to all of your friends and followers and ask them to check out my site and maybe they can help.

For more information about Kay click on the Kay Boyle Film tab at the top of the page and check out the different pages.

I will be posting some new things before August 1st so please come back and see how we’re doing.

Make your Tax Deductible Contribution here (and feel free to do it before August 1st, let’s really start this thing off right!)

Thanks for reading this.
